AC DC

I thought I'd take a minute to introduce the two little members of our family we already have, Alyson Chayns and Dani California! They usually go by Aly and Dani but sometimes we'll call them Alygator or Alybat and Danisaur or Rugrat. Aly is a dotson, chihuahua, pekinese mix that we rescued from a home where she wasn't being cared for a little more than a year ago. Since Chris & I both work I decided that Aly needed someone home with her to keep her company all those hours so back in October we adopted Dani from a local humane society. She is rat terrier mix. At first Aly wasn't too thrilled with us for ruining her "only child" status but she has really warmed up to Dani & now they get along great!!

When everyone found out the good news!!

Early Thanksgiving morning I got some really exciting news, Chris & I are going to have a new addition to our family next August! I waited to tell him until the next day so I could visit Santa & surprise him with this picture. After many "Oh my God!"'s we went straight to Eric & Tonya's (Chris's brother & sister-in-law) so Chris could share with someone, too! Not being a camera toter I didn't capture their reactions but I would say they were pretty excited for us. Then they were sworn to secrecy! Tonya did get a pic of Chris & I before we left that evening, one of our best so far I think! Must have been all of the excitement.

We had several ideas about how to tell our parents & we went back and forth a bunch of times but Eric came up with the most clever plan. My dad was going to be in town this weekend so we were definitely sharing with him while he was here. Then Eric suggested he invite his parents up for a "surprise birthday party for Tonya" which both were able to be up here for. Tonya remembered that Lone Star has a back room that is reservable, checked on it and it was available. The last piece was how? Chris & I assembled Christmas cards with me & Santa on the cover in a fury in the parking lot of Target, showed up late & once everyone had ordered we passed them out. A lot of excited yelling ensued, of course! Many hugs & congrats were shared & everyone knew, at the same time! It was perfect!! Thank you so much Eric for such a great idea!
